The 30 year old Briggs engine needs to be replaced in my 1606 Cub. It is 30 years old and not made any more. I would like a direct bolt in engine exchange. Has anyone done this? And are there any ideas?
Thank you
Larry

If you Google "garden tractor repower" several companies off kits, which include everything you need. "Jim's"* is the specialist for Briggs upgrades, he offers the drop in stuff you want.

You can also source a Kohler Mag 18 and the drive parts from an 1806.
