The APBA has been racing at a lake 2 miles from my house. There there every year but this year is for national championship. 641 boats registered. Best part is it's a free event so we've been there the last couple days. Was lookin at one of the boats and the driver came over and talked to us for quite a while. We ended hangin out with him most of the last few days. Turns out he is ranked 3rd in national standings. All of those racers are real good group of people and super friendly to everyone, not like others I've met with other professional sports. These guys are human. My wife's son wanted a pic of 3rd ranked drivers boat so I took one then the driver, Jimmi Warren says....Hey...wanna sit in it for a picture? Lets just say a little boy has a new hero

Brendan, looks like you and yours had a great time! Nothing compares to a smile on a childs face.

80 or 100 on the water...no thanks. The few times I have been on the water it always seems faster than the actual MPH.

It seems to me that every year that passes, there are fewer "free" family events. Great pics!

Hows that hand doing?
