On Sunday, June 1st the Newark New Jersey Fire Department Historical Association will be honoring my great-grandfather Jacob Bleyhle at their annual fire muster. Jacob made his last alarm on April 23, 1904 fighting a 3 alarm Fire in a 5 story warehouse. He and 2 others died when the building collapsed with them inside. 7 others were seriously injured making it the worst day in Newark Fire Department history. I will be heading that way to participate in the goings on.

Doug, I'm sure the Newark N.J. Fire Dept will do a bang-up job in honoring your great-grand dad. I'm only 45 min away, might even show up to see whats going on.
