My wife bought a condo and I had to sell my place so I no longer had a place for my toys. I had 2 acres with a barn. Had an old Cub Cadet that I bought from previous home owner in 84 and then I moved up to the 982 with a 50" deck, sure cut mowing time down. Several years later I bought a JD 430 diesel because it had power steering and a 60" deck. I will say that the 982 was much better built than the JD, but I needed the power steering. Biggest thing I was having problems with at old house was picking up sticks in the spring and after high winds. (Getting old ain't so bad..... it's that falling apart that SUCKS!!)
I sold my Cub's to a guy that I used to work with who collects and restores Cub's with his two sons. He said he will probably part out old Cub and is going to add power steering to the 982 as he has most of the parts for it.
I've attached pictures of my Cub's leaving.......... :(
