So I will openly show my ignorance here, On the parts look up what do I type in to look up parts for a original? I have tried cub cadet and original with no luck. Either I am just that dumb(most likely) or there something else. Thanks Jim

Try this

Lookup Parts Via Diagram | Cub Cadet US

Scroll down to garden tractor and click on that
Then scroll down a bit to where cub cadet is listed twice.
You want the bottom one printed in black
click on that one
Then scroll through each page of the models to "show more"
There are 3 pages
You have to click on that one two times to get to the last page
It's the last listing on the last page for the original

Jim - you're not showing ignorance at all. I absolutely hate the CCC parts look-up. Their formatting is TERRIBLE. And I also hate that they have removed many part numbers from the listing and just put N/A instead. What about dealers that have NOS parts? (I actually think CCC gives dealers another parts look-up. They think actual user customers are to dumb to know things).
Fortunately I have a paper copy of a couple parts books. One for 1x8/9 and Quiet Lines, and one for most attachments. Wish I had one for narrow frames, but time goes on and don't have much need now.

I don't know if i should start another topic but he my new question ( with more to come I am sure) what is the number on the tag suppose to be on a starter generator for a original? We got on with it but wont go in far enough to get the adjusting bolt in. Thanks Jim

Harry I have one for the 1X2 if you want a copy

Thanks Doug but I've got an electronic copy for a few of the NF tractors, just don't have the complete parts book. Not sure what the number on it was, except it's TC-something.

I was lucky to find one of these at an estate sale. No nla's in this book
