I have a 129 12hp hydro.was wondering how you can tell the difference between a wide and narrow frame ? I do know one is wider then the other but is there a way to tell : )
 
The 1x8/9 or Quietline 800, 1x00/1x50 model numbers are considered wide frame. Anything else made by IH is a narrow frame. 7x, 1xx.

The 82:Series is sorta a wide frame, but uses a 5/8 belt, and the mule drive is a bit different.

If you look at a frame, and the rails are the same width apart from one end the the other, it’s a narrow frame. If the frame gets wider just in front of the dash tower, it a wide frame.
