Greetings everyone.
Well I have come across a 80 and a 127, both hydrostatic drive. Before purchasing them I need to ask. What are the general problems these suffer from? Also where do you find online manuals for these models?

Thanks Brad

Welcome Brad.

I'm not familar with the perks and quirks of an 80. Never owned one. As far as general problems. Hmmm.... depends on just what you mean. ALL brands and ALL makes and models of anything can have general problems. Someone doesn't take care of a tractor and just drive it .... lots of general problems. Most common problems on these? Again... like anything. Stuff happens on the way to Disneyland (or Las Vegas)and while Skipping The Yellow Brick Road. Now let's consider some things about these tractors. The 80 is a lawn tractor. The 127... garden tractor that could be 40 years young. If the previous owner(s) took good care of it then there may not be much wrong. If the PO(s) just drove it or beat it then a lot could be wrong. I suggest that you go to the main Forum (IH Cub Cadet Forum) and just sit back and read and if you don't understand then ask. From there you will begin to find the answer to your questions about the 127. I have a 127 in the process of refurbishing. If it is anything like my 125... then I'll have one awesome Cub Cadet. I hope this helps.

About the 80.... someone else will have to comment.

Online manuals.... try the top of the page. Binder Books.... one of our super sponsors.

Brad the 80 is not much more than a lawn tractor the 127 is a garden tractor. The 80 will never keep up with its big brothers. As far as general problems go they both were good units for what they are. Just remember they are simple machines and there isn't all to much that can go wrong with the engines. Gear boxes are easier to work on and a bit more user friendly than hydros.

Actually going to take a look at the 127 in a few weeks. Owner says it runs fine and comes with snowblower, but I;ll have to wait and see.
