I have a 551 Cub snow thrower that fits the Super garden tractor series. I used this blower 5 or so years ago and then switched over to a 6 foot plow on a compact tractor. The blower sat outside until I got around to cleaning it up last fall. I sandblasted, wire brushed and sanded, then did a POR 15 on all the rusty areas, then painted flat black.
The first snow I cleaned about 100 foot and it threw the belt. I replaced with a new belt and did about 100 feet and it threw again. I think the problem was the idler pully, I straightened and tightened and didn't get back to it before better weather. Let me know if I can answer any questions.
Thanks,
Curt
