Restoring my Cub 102, built 1966-69. I'm gigantic and want/need more legroom. On one of the websites (can't recall which) I saw that my seat flips up/comes off for adjustment. In my photos it looks like mine would not flip up but might come off with a bit of prying.... I'm trying to pry it loose, not happening. I like the seat, very retro, don't want to lose it.

As you see in pix 1 the bottom bracket is attached to the base with 4 bolts. The top bracket attached to the seat is somehow fixed to the bottom bracket....I think. I can get the 4 bolts out but if those two brackets don't come apart those bolts are the devil to re-install....or buy a new seat. Can I get the same style seat in a flip-up model?

Help please, Jack

Remove the two rear bolts, then loosen the fronts till the seat lines up with the two large holes on the seat bottom, then lift it off.

The original 122 and 123 seats were fiberglass with a vacuum formed vinyl cover. Finding good examples is hard and pricey. Finding pieces 2,3,4, and 5 used and then getting a modern seat might be your best route.

And for the love of... If you do get a new seat, don't toss the seat you have. Plenty of us on here would love to have that seat... 👍😎👍
With your instructions the seat came right off. As I said I love the seat, it's in unbelievable condition for its age. As an amateur carpenter I'll do something with wood to raise the seat and lengthen travel.
Thanks again, Jack
