I have a Cub Cadet AGS2130, I bought it this past summer. It has just over 400 hours use and runs very well. I see a snow plow advertised on craigslist that was used on a 2135 Cub. Will this fit my AGS2130? Can this model handle a snow plow? I am in central Illinois and we don not often get snow deeper than 12 inches. Most storms are less than 8 inches. Would a blower be more practicle for a 2130? Thanks in advance for any advise anyone can share.

Chris: If you're like me, you'll purchase the part and try to figure out if it fits AFTER you get it home.

Seriously, if you follow the "Cub Cadets Parts Lookup" link grouped with the Forum's Sponsor Links above, and choose "2000 Series" and find your tractor in the listing, there is a sub-category called "Attachments" and all the attachments which will fit your tractor appear there with model numbers listed.

I checked out the link, and both the Model 2130 and Model 2135 were produced in the same Serial Number "batches;" the first batch were manufactured in the S/N run from 239,001 to 326,005, the second batch were produced with S/N 326,006 on up.

Fortunately for you, all four listings report the same three snow throwers will fit:

1. Model 303 40" snow thrower, the attachment should be marked "190-303-100"

2. Model 340 40" snow thrower, the attachment should be marked "190-340-100"

3. Model 341 42" snow thrower, the attachment should be marked "190-341-100"

So, go for it!

But be sure to specify your Serial Number when ordering parts for your tractor, evidently there were some differences between the two S/N runs.

!! Next, a word of caution, these little yellow and white tractors can get very addictive and spending time on this site fans the flame (you've been warned

). Thank you Jeremiah for your research, as always, and I agree with what Jeremiah has posted. Jeremiah didn't comment however on the blade vs snowthrower comment. As a guy who has used both throwers and a blade regularly, I'd be concerned that your tractor will not be heavy enough to push a heavier snow. I have a Super garden tractor which weighs nearly 1500 lbs with my blade, weights and tractor. When the snow gets deep and heavy, I've got all I can do to have enough traction to push it. Anything up to 10", I'm good to go but that is with the super 1772. If you can locate a thrower (single stage) or a blower (two stage), I would personally recommend that. I think given your tractor and its size, you'd be the happiest with that! Just my thoughts.

Josh: I intentionally kept quiet on that point, but I had intended to add a qualifier that I didn't know anything about actually using the equipment. So I'm glad you chimed in with the "expert" advice.

Chris, we have plowed snow with a 2000 series for the last 3 years and WE LOVE IT! The blade will fit all 2000 series. I currently run a 2166 with chains and weights. The foot controls and built in spring assist make plowing snow a breeze. Notice I said chains and weights. Thats the key with anything. A blower would be great, but a good blade will do just fine. Even in big snows. You just have to plan your piles and keep the snow pushed way back. I have an 1811 too with a blade. When I asked my 20 yr old son which one to keep and which to sell, he was clear. Keep the 2000 series. I used to use a 2135 before the 2166. It was beat and tired when I got it, did great, but just was wore out. But it just plowed snow like a sow rooting in a fence row. lol. You will love it.

I have a local seller with what they are saying is a Cub 392 snowblade. Will this fit a AGS2130? If so it looks like a good buy

The number I have for the blade for a 2000 series is a 190302

I picked up the blade today, the part # is CC-190-302 so this is the correct one, looks like a good deal for $100. Now I need to source wheel chains and some weights. Any suggestions where to order chains online?
