Hello all,
I’m in the process of rebuilding my clutch driveline and installing a Danco creeper on my 1962 Cub. I noticed the previous owner put a newer clutch spring, part number 932-3016, a heavy duty,RED in color spring. Is this necessary? This tractor will be used for dirt work/snow removal with a push blade. Should I just go with the traditional spring?
Thanks for any help.
Justin

The geometry of the Original clutch/brake pedal doesn't really lend itself well to a stronger spring pressure. On the the later tractors the shaft for the spring/brake pedal went through the whole frame, unlike an original, which went through one side of the frame.

There is a pic of an original frame in this thread so you can see:

I'd stick with the original spring pressure. After all, the whole thing is driven by a belt, so how much power can it take?

Thank you for the response!! Will be keeping it original!
