Canton to blow historic steam whistle 3 times daily

Associated Press

There are plans in Canton to blow the former International Harvester steam whistle three times daily.

International Harvester closed more than 30 years ago and burned in 1997. Someone saved the steam whistle while the building burned.

The (Canton) Daily Ledger reports (http://bit.ly/1AIEbUi ) that the piece of Canton history was dedicated on Monday. It will be blown at 8 a.m. 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. daily from the top of the Cook Polymer Technology facility. The whistle previously was on top of the Canton City Building and Canton Police Department.
