It's still cute anyway!
Both posts are.
Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy like Tootsie is.

Oh my goodness Wayne. Nothing like having the bunny pulled over our eyes.

That video is sooo cute but YES I did notice. if one isn't paying attention and just enjoying it is rather convincing though. The person who came up with that was rather clever. Yes, the kitty does look like Graygirl for sure.!!

I suppose I'm not going to live down the ELK post

Well, Fancy isn't losing much weight, if ANY. I thought he had gotten lazy and quit going upstairs. AHA, then I saw him going up the stairs, and then realized that he was sneaking up there at night to eat Tootsie's food. I had been leaving her dry food down, thinking that Fancy was staying downstairs. My Mistake. I thought why isn't he losing..and maybe gaining a little. BIG SIGH.

We still do our daily walks, and he loves that, hearing over and over " you are such a good boy..come on".!! The other day he and I had to take out trash, and he followed me back and forth to get the bags, and then we mosied up to Amys house then turned around. On the way back, Jewels, the neighbors dog came out of her house to say hi, so I walked over to give her a little love talking. Then I looked at Fanc, and he was like, what the heck, why are you talking to THAT dog and he started walking towards me and wtih that, Jewels got disgusted and went back into her condo. haha. So, Fancy and I made our way back to the house. Oh BTW, it was raining out and usually Fancy is such a shrinking violet if there is even a drop out of the sky, but he seemed to enjoy our wet walk.

When I got groceries yesterday I got new food for him, and Annie. It is for weight management, and they both need that. Annie isn't overweight, but for small as she is, its suprising when you pick her up. I read how much to feed per weight lose directions and he and Annie get that, although that is hard to determin since they both eat out of the same bowl, so I give them a little more since it is two eating.. hopefully that will help. He has to get some poundage off before the cold sets, and the snow flys, if it does at all this winter, as I can't go out when its slick.( the risk of falling and breaking something is to great).

Since the vent in Tootsie's room doesn't work we have had to plug in her heater, and so I ordered a plush dome like ' condo' for her to snuggle up in.Its all fabric and has a soft plush extra cushion to put in it. She loves it. Yesterday when she was on the chuch pew, I was taking laundry out of the dryer, and thought she might like a nice warm towel, so I scooped her up and then set her on the towel and she sure snuggled down, and she was in seventh heaven. She loves 'warm things'...lol. I plan on ordering her a round snuggler that is heated for when it gets colder. The heater does heat her bedroom, but thought if I get her a heated bed, then she wouldnt need it so warm in there, and electricty has really gone UP.

Marlin brought in catnip for the kitties about a week ago. It was so funny. Each of the kitties, Fanc, Annie and Hannah each had their own sprigs. (Tootsie hadn't come downstairs yet..she was eating her supper) I thought, Annie is going to find out not to get near her daddys catnip..hehe. Annie had her catnip in the living room and she was rubbing on it then tossing it here and there in the air. She really got crazy. Then she came into the dining room where Fanc and his catnip was and ooops, she got to close and he let her know WHO IS BOSS. I had to laugh. She ran into the living room then sat in the doorway, peeking around the corner at her daddy, like what the heck is wrong with him?..we share everything. Well, NOT catnip when it is freshly picked. Then when Tootsie came down, her's was on the church pew..her roosting place and she was rubbing her whole upper body with the stuff, acting almost like she was trying to cover herself with it. She certainly had the scent of nip on her. Hannah? She ate her's.

So today another walk, and tomorrow and the next day. At least it isn't cold and rainy like October typically USE to be. The weather is so odd anymore. Sunday its suppose to be in the lower 70's again, and that is abnormal for the end part of october here in Iowa. I think anyways. Anymore, I don't know what normal weather is, and it seems to get warmer with each season.

How is everyons furkids?

Hey Cathleen.. I haven't written much of anything in weeks on here... I have been reading just not up to "participating"...

Meow Meow has begun making his trips upstairs to our bedroom each morning now that the weather has turned. In the summer if he doesn't make it into our bedroom in time ( to enjoy the Air Conditioner ), he'll stay downstairs where it's cooler! Now tho', he gets cold so he runs upstairs to snuggle up with us. Soon he'll be all night with us in bed. It's harvest time on the cranberry bogs - we're almost done - and I'm to tired to type much. So we'll chat more later!

Mike, do you still harvest the cranberries like in the olden days with the hand held pickers? That is a lot of work.! Not that I have ever done it, but I know how they use to harvest cranberries . I was an antique dealer, along with my parents years ago in Iowa and we specialized in " primitive antiques" and most of what came from the east coast fell into that category. People in the midwest really desired antiques from the east coast and the old wood and metal cranberry pickers were a highly collectable item. I really enjoyed displaying them, by hanging them on the wall, to show their uniqueness and also used them to put arrangements in. I really enjoyed them in the cold months with winter greenery .

I can well understand why you are tired, and I would imagine very SORE.

if you are using the original type pickers!!

Awww, thats so cute that Meow Meow is a snuggler in the cold months.

Does he sing you songs when he snuggles? Hannah sings me songs everynight and we have to " touch", but I still so miss Stinker snuggling and waking me up in the middle of the night giving me kitty kisses on my face..

sending the best to you all and Meow Meow

Hey Cath.. we wet pick our cranberries, dry picking is truly a backbreaking job and I can't do that any longer! A neighbor has a cranberry sorting machine that he just purchased, it's just over a hundred years old and it's still used now to sort his berries! What it cost him we could buy 3 Cub Cadet tractors!!

Meow Meow does something that we call "binks".. he puts his forehead against your chin & leans on you while you scratch his back and pet him! And then he "plops" onto his side while you cradle him in the crook of your arm.. Oh, and when he's happy like that he drools! Then he shakes his head and sprays everyone/everything around! LOL..

Frank, that was interesting. You know, Fancy came home one time with a small notch on his ear. when we living in another town ~ I wondered if the city had picked him up, checked his tag that is under the skin to identify him, and notched his ear and let him go, knowing he belonged to us? Also the city and police knew we were taming and adopting out the feral cats/kittens so maybe they did that so Fancy wouldnt be picked up again if they caught him mosing around. lol. he never went far...usually just a few houses, but a few times we found him a block away, and boy was he ever in t-r-o-u-b-l-e.

thats a good thing to know though.!

RE: ear clipping. Recently we had a bunch of our feral cats spay/nutered. I didn't notice until some time later that the tip of one ear was clipped on all of them. Mentioned to my wife and she said 'didn't you know they clip their ears to show their fixed?'.DUH,,, no I didn't know...but I do now !

Allen, hummm, well wonder why the vet didn't tell me that? do they do that to housecats too? oh I can answer that, DUH. None of my females have notched ears. I imagine some owners would get really upset if their cats were required to have notced ears. lol..BUT I wonder why they don't do them to, in case they get out and lost and aren't microchipped, no one would have a way of knowing

Well, Zoe never showed back up so my girls are looking for 2 free or low priced kittens and I agreed they both could have one each

Jeff, too bad your so far away. I/we have 7 of the cutest kittens that will soon be available to be adopted. Maybe a picture later. We are 'foster parents' to them in co-operation with a local rescue league. We are paying for food etc., league is paying for vet care.

Frank,

All of our cats (wife and daughter's) have been fixed, and none of them have their ears clipped. Except for Louie, he did his own notching. I believe he did it by jumping up into the top of my Cub Cadet building which has roofing nails sticking out on the underside. I haven't got around to closing in the overhang just yet. They have their own home to play in now.

We had had some 15 cats ove the last 33 years all of them were altered. Quite a few were tossed out buy A.H.'s. About 10 months ago another stray arrived and we haven't gained here confidence yet to have here fixed. Three weeks ago six kittens arrived. Her first two batches of kittens were killed buy a jellous male cat within 2 days. I saw were she went the night the kittens were born, they and the mother spent thear first 2 weeks locked in our garage. Here they are:

Edward,

Good job taking care of the little ones.
thumbsup.gif
Of course you know you must post more pics of those cute kittens. Nice house too. Is that a big cage they are in?

Thank you, Allen. You da man (with the feral cats). The way I read that was it's not for the everyday housecat with a "forever" home, it's for ferals that someone gives another chance instead of using for target practice.

P.S. Jeff & Allen : USPS FLAT RATE BOX - IF IT FITS IT SHIPS

(they still do baby chicks that way, don't they?)

Marty; The cage the kittens are in is on our front porch. It's about 2'w x 2't and 6'long and about 3' off the concrete.. The mother cat is pretty small and I made the opening into the cage narrow so no big fat male is getting in. I think the little kittens may be running all over in another week.

Edward, those are some cute kittens! That might be redundant, what kitten isn't cute...

Cathleen...RE: ear clipping, I noticed that my indoor cats don't have their ears clipped. Maybe they only do outdoor ones ??
UPDATE- my wife says no need to clip indoor cats since you own and care for them, you also know who who has been N/S.
