When I go for gas or the Cubbies, it costs what I used to fill up my car with. It's all "Smoke and Mirrors" boys. Some people are getting very rich at our expence!

TOM I agree, this summer the 3-4 gal of gas I use to mow my 2 acres will cost $15 or more. Back in 1973 or so I'd put about $7-8 worth of gas in my car, fill the tank full and be able to drive 250-300 miles.

Some where in the US there's a dozen guys sitting in a smoke filled room chewing on expensive Cuban cigars laughing about leaking the idea that gas prices are going up this summer and within a month they had $5/gal gas in California. Now all they have to do is count the Millions of extra Dollars rolling in every day and try to figure out how to give themselves all big bonus's.

We should put all the computer nurds onto finding a way to propel cars/trucks rather than makeing the iPhone 3-4-5-6......... Screw the ragheads and big oil.

Or we could all stop driving, that would mess with their minds big time!

378.9 for non ethanol 87 here yesterday. Cost me 132.00 to fill my pickup.

Local news station lists the lowest price gas every day on the early AM news, $3.83/gal here, most stations are $3.95. I peeked at the diesel pump a week ago, it was over $4/gal. I have to buy some fuel for it this next week, Most I;ve ever put in it was 42 gal, so at $4.059 that would be $212.48 to fill both tanks. I'm glad one is almost full! What hurts is I can remember the first time I squeezed $60 of fuel into the almost empty 125 gal fuel tank on my semi-tractor back in about 1983.

It's been hanging around $3.69.9 around here lately. What is really interesting is the newspaper article that I read a couple of days ago. Studies have been made and the information kept since the 1970s era. Those studies have proven that no matter how much more or less the U.S. drills for oil it doesn't have any effect on lowering OUR or anybody elses gas prices. The United States only accounts for around 11% of the world oil supply. There are too many global factors that keep the crude prices up. So therefore, no matter which party holds the office of the president of the U.S. or which party holds control of either the House or Senate... It simply boils down to the mere fact... We aren't as big and mighty as we may think we are when it comes to crude oil production. One more thing... The U.S. has been drilling for more oil. As they used to say on the TV Series,Dragnet... "The facts ma'am. Just the facts.}

The facts also show that the refineries are NOT being run at full producion thus raising the Gas prices. The price of crude isn't up that much. BIG oil is causing the increase in prices.

About those iPhones.... Nets Around Buildings... which reminds me of the song by The Motels ... which brings to mind the verse from my poem titled Yesterday's Paper...

She said, "Look at the headlines. Isn't that a shame? We can point at others and yet deny that we're also to blame."

Oh, well... It's beautiful outside and so many things to do with the Cub Cadets today.

Tom H. -

What I don't get is how Fuel Zone (nee Mobil) and Shell in FRG can be the highest in the area at $4.55 and $4.59 respectively, yet the Thorntons in Cary is "only" $4.33.

Mike M, Chris E, Brad E and I were out in the Stokton area yesterday and gas was $4.05 - $4.10. Go figure?

87 Octane is 3.89 here in jamestown and 36 miles away in Crossville it is 3.61. Go figure.
