Earl F. I went to Mike Beadle's today and have another load of parts. I need to sort them out and post pictures for those that need parts. Possibly one or two more loads. Now I need another building unless I can find homes for them. No big items or rear hitch plates.

#2 tiller question
What all is involved in replacing the bearings in the lower end of a tiller?

Does one have to split the main chain case in order to do this??
Thanks
Dave S.

I am having trouble with the points on my tractor every time I turn over the engine it doesn't look like the points are opening and closing does anyone know what that could be

David S.
Just remove the dust cover from both sides and remove parts until you get to the flanges that hold the bearing and locking collar in place.

Quinn G.
Sounds like you need to adjust the points, or replace the points rod.
Even if the push rod is worn, you should be able to adjust the points enough to let it run.

I'm trying to just the points just to see if it will start up and run but I can't adjust it because they're not opening they need to be open to adjust them

And is there anyway I can tell if I need to replace the points rod

Not to be or sound smart, but do ya know how and what to do to adjust/set the points?
Do ya have the Kohler or Cub Service manual?
If not, you might want to go to the manuals section and download both.
They are a great help.

I wouldn't worry with the rod until you get the points moving.

Quinn,

The points will easily come off just by removing the two screws.
With the key switch and gas turned off, along with the spark plug wire unplugged, turn the motor with your hand and make sure the points rod is moving.
That will at least let you know the rod is working.
