Marty, I second the kudos to Charlie for the parts I ordered. It was very fast, had cleaned the carb out and put the new parts in and it started right up. Also, the extras were appreciated.

Jonathan, that battery will do. I don't like using the power sports(motorcycle) batteries unless the unit actually requires it. Regular battery, keeping charged up will last years. I'm going to get a battery maintainer like Steve B always suggests for winter storage

Earl F. I've been having fairly good luck using the harbor Freight CenTec trickle chargers. Whatever you do don't buy anything from fleabay. BTDT and the charger worked right up until the battery was charged and for some reason it wouldn't work the next time.

David S. Have you seen the really nice looking 104 on the Quad Cities CL site? I wish that I had the money for that little fella.

Everyone have a SAFE and terrific day!!!

Fancy held Angel say that a neighbor sees a little fox in her yard early mornings so now he wants to get out and check for it.

Marlin and others, I'd stick with battery tender or the Stanley variant my friend has. He's been using the Stanley one for several years now. I've been sticking the 1200 battery on trickle charge once a week for a few hours this past winter. It seems to work but not as easy as plugging in once in the fall until spring. Making sure the battery is in good shape with full water, etc.
Going to get the mower decks on this weekend finally. And do spring maintenance as well on the 1200 and dad's 1450.

I hope you still do off-topic Friday. If not, please delete. Maybe someone can help.

I am looking for a source for a shirt. Yes, that is correct; a shirt. It would be a shirt similar to what would have been worn by an IH partsman, service technician or perhaps salesman. It seems to me that they were red over grey, and had either an IH patch or embroidery on the front. Does anyone know of a source?

Boy I don't know who would have 6 or 7 of those shirts! LOL

I've been working a section of the garden and have a question about the hydraulics on the 149. When the oil gets hot I lose lift speed. The oil level is good and I've found no evidence of leaks. No implement I've used is heavier than 200#...just the turning plow and a single disc harrow. It doesn't stop lifting, it just gets real slow. When it's cold it seems to lift as it should.

I think I remember something about a test port on the pump and using shims(???) to control pressure(???). I've never had to deal with this problem so inexperience is in control here.

Wayne,

Cold oil = thick oil and Hot oil = thin oil. The hotter the oil the more likely it is to bypass around leaking o-rings in cylinders/pumps or around the seats in relief valves.

Could be one of several things, implement relief spring weak, cut seal in lift cylinder, etc.

Battery Tender BRAND has always been good to me......

Kraig - could you do a little touch-up please. The "I" in IH of the Correct Police hat has slipped down a bit. And for that matter the "I" in almost all the other hats in your pics, has slipped down. We at least gotta keep the Correct Police correct
