Good friends of mine in MD are considering purchase of a used 524 that is local to them and wanted to know if these were good reliable machines or Not.

I know zip, zero, nada about these things so thought I'd put it up to you guys.

Anyone have one of these for winter use.
Looking for pro's and cons, if any, to pass on to these good folks.
