Anyone know for sure if a 3205 is comparable to the old 82 series tractors? I am talking fram length and size. I know it has smaller tires and the plastic/tin is different shapes, but is it smaller in length than the old 82 series? Can the front of the frame be modified to accept a QA42A blower? Are these newer tractors about the same width as the old ones? There is one around here for $500.00 for everything, including the blown motor!

Is that a deal? Only say that because it has the hydro and the power steering on it still that supposedly works. Is it worth fixing up? Could I strip the dash tower & tin work off it and put on 82 series parts? Just wondering how much modifying I'd have to do?

Simple answer is NO, Mike. The last tractors that were 82 series based were the 1864 style "Cyclops" machines. They were last made in 1997. The 3205 is entirely a new design, with a totally different frame and attachment system that is not backwards compatible.

To me that is when the Cub Cadet ended and the MTD really began influencing product design. In other words, R.I.P. Cub Cadet

Thanks Jim & Frank.
I have told the guy its probably better if he sells it elsewhere. Last thing I need is another tractor sitting in the shed. I need to get the ones I have working well and then clean up the shed before I add anymore!

Why is it when your looking for something you can never find it. Then a year or so later it falls out of the sky when you DO NOT need it?
