Inspect every inch of the belt, is it showing the cords breaking inside? Is it bent or "frozen" in a certain position? Is it hard as iron?, If none of those, check the pulley alignment, use something as a straight edge verify the pulleys are straight with each other. Check each pulley for damage, bad bearings in the shafts? Those can all play a part in keeping the belt in place.

Be nice, i had to go buy 2160 to mount a tiller to (dad picked up at auction). Works great except the $120 belt, might just be nature of these things?

Maybe it's just me but it seems like the courtesy of posting topics in the correct sections has kind gone by the wayside here as of late.
We all probably have been guilty of this at one time or another, I know I have and was promptly reminded of that fact by a big bear!!!o_O
Whatever happened to that bear anyway??

I believe that big bear is still getting caught up on shipping stuff. He was on vacation for a couple of weeks.
