I JUST BROUGHT ANOTHER 2072 HOME, I GOT IT STARTED LAST NIGHT,AFTER CLEANING FUEL SYSTEM. THE PROBLEM IS IT WILL RUN FINE AT 1/2 THROTTLE , BUT IF YOU TRY TO GO HIGHER IT WILL JUST DIE LIKE YOU SHUT IT OFF WITH THE SWITCH.THE CARB HAS BEEN CLEANED IT JUST SEEMS LIKE IT IS RUNNING OUT OF FUEL AT HIGH RPM. ANY SUGGESTIONS?.

Your fuel pump could be faulty or you could still have crap fuel gummed up in the fuel system if it's been sitting awhile. Make sure the fuel shutoff under the tank is open all the way. Having a similiar problem with my 1811 that i just picked up that was sitting for a few years. I'm going to have to take the carb apart and rebuild it. I've been running clean fuel through it and it's been getting better. Make sure you have an inline fuel filter also.

PROBLEM IS SOLVED AFTER THE SECOND CARB CLEANING I FOUND MORE VARNISHED FUEL IN IT. MOWED 2.5 ACRES WITH IT WITHOUT A PROBLEM. NOW IT IS TIME FOR CLEAN UP AND COSMETIC WORK ON THE HOOD AND SIDE PANELS.THANKS.
