Battery is good and when i turn the key to start it the solenoid in front of the battery under the seat just clicks. Tried jumping the solenoid but it just sparks . the pto clicks on and off so thats not the problem.

cub, you can prove the starter by jumping from pos on batt to starter post.starter should kick in.If starter works it's probably loose connections to or from solenoid. You can jump sol.connections also and it will spark when you do..batt input to sol.to output to starter.again it is likely corroded connections or loose ones. check activating sol. wire to be sure you're getting 12v,this wire comes from switch....just because it clicks doesn't mean it's working inside, they do wear out..feed back

Sounds like a dirty connection at the 'Big wires'...battery to solenoid and solenoid to starter.
When you hear the relay click, are you getting 12v on both large wires on the solenoid. If you arent, the solenoid is bad, if you are then its still possible you have dirty or bad wires to Starter. In this case. The wires cannot handle the current even though you have voltage.

The best-running Cubs will vibrate some so every elec connection needs to be TIGHT. Use lock washers.
Cheers, Jack
