I've been busy chasing oil leaks on my 1811 and thought with the replacement of the front seal I had them all fixed. I now find that the oil lines are leaking - between the hose and the crimp and also "weeping" through the covering. When I took the hoses off I discovered what looks like the previous owner's diy solution. These hoses don't look like what is shown in the parts breakdown. I tried to find matching hoses to mate to the fittings I have on either end, but have had little luck. Then a thought struck me. Why not pipe these in steel line? I have the flaring tool and bender, and the materials are going to be less expensive then new hoses. I realize I will be giving up the ability to unbolt the filter mount and swing it aside for filter changes, but I can live with that. Engine vibration might be an issue, but I wouldn't think so with all the bends and length of the lines. Your thoughts...pro or con?
