Good evening folks, I hope this finds you well. I'm trying to help my elderly neighbor with his Cub Cadet 1711 Hydro garden tractor, and i'm hoping someone can give me some guidance so he doesn't have to send it to a shop. He started up his tractor last week after its long winter nap & backed it out of the garage to cut his grass. He let it sit & idle to warm up before he started mowing, suddenly for no apparent reason it just died. Turn the key & nothing happens, no movement of the voltage gauge, nothing. I checked his battery with my load tester & it tested fine under load. We assumed it was the ignition switch as he had a similar problem a decade or so ago & it turned out to be the switch. He ordered a new one, i installed it for him, turn the key & nothing. One of the 15A fuses on the dash panel was blown, so i replaced it, still nothing. With my limited electrical knowledge i'm wondering if maybe the solenoid is the problem? Anyone have any other thoughts? Thanks in advance, he's 92 and fretting over getting his grass cut & i want to help.
