I was cutting grass today I hit a bump and the pto turned off and would not come back on. I discovered the fuse had blown every time I turn on the pto the fuse blows. I unhooked the pto at the plug and turned on the switch and the fuse did not blow. Any ideas is the pto field shot? can I just change the field or do I have to get the entire pto? Can they be rebuilt?
Thanks

Charles -- I think you're in the market for a new or good used part, and they aren't cheap! The bearing can be replaced by a determined and persistent mechanic or Do-It-Yourselfer, but I've never heard of someone replacing the coil, and I'm not sure they're available separately.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, perhaps someone can prove me wrong.
