What length belt should I get for a 1512/QA-36A combination, assuming that I use the same diameter pulley as the stock 1/2" one?

And don't tell me to go get an IH-78056-C1, this is more or less going to be an emergency situation and I can't wait a week for my local CC dealer to get one.

Thanks!!

Matt,
The 1512 has a 5/8" PTO pulley.
The best thing to do would be to hook it up, lower the adjuster down all the way down, take a cord or string and wrap it around everything, then get a belt that is 1" to 1 1/2" shorter than your total length.
You should be able to get by with a cogged 1/2" belt as long as you don't load the thrower up to hard.

Matt- don't say that your dealer doesn't keep them belts on hand!!!! My local dealer does and they prefer to keep parts on hand for the newer machines versus the older ones.

Hugh-

I'll check, they almost always have deck belts for the older stuff. And this isn't even that old. Problem is, I may end up using a pulley that's like 1/2" smaller or so. I don't know, we'll see what happens...

I am trying to help a friend with his cub cadet 2135. Frequently after mowing a while the engine surges and stalls. He then removes the fuel line between the tank and the fuel pump and blows fuel backwards toward the tank, then shoves the fuel line back on. Usually this is a temp fix. Has tried draining the tank and swabbing it with a yard stick and rag. Does the tank have a screen in it? Any other suggestions? Thanks Garu

Gary,

If the tank is plastic, I suspect that the screen is part of the fitting for the gas line. I would "pull the plug" on the bottom of the tank, examine the screen, and rinse the tank well.

By-the-way, you might want to start a new thread for this topic.
