I have a couple of questions on the 1450 I’m working on. 1.Part of this tractor was repainted and is blue but the color on the dash tower is black. S/N 656585. 2. Will the hydro relief valves from a 1250 work on a 1450. The 1450 I think don’t have the relief buttons on top of them. Thank you.

Jake,

Yes the relief valves will work. However, the one without the driveshaft in the picture, are manual valves, and there is a lever and flapper on the tunnel cover that pushed the buttons. The one labeled L and R are automatic valves. You can switch them, just if you need to push the tractor with it not running, makes it difficult without the flapper/lever. Otherwise they will work just fine. Just comes into play if you have to push it..

The Stripe on the tower should be blue with white letters..... here is my all original 1450 for comparison.... (factory stripe)

This is one of Dad's and these are replacement decals after the tractor was repainted (he bought it this way, we didn't do this one) My opinion, some of the replacement decals are slightly too dark of a blue...... these are fairly close, bit some are much darker than these.....

Thank you I might use the tunnel cover from the 1250 for the flapper until I get these others rebuilt. That black or dark paint just has me a little confused like the tractor is a 149 with the 14 horse. Serial number to me comes as a 1450.

That is a Quietline (1450) as your serial number shows. The dash tin was blue through the 1x4/5 series. It switched to black on the 1x6/7 ‘s. The wide frames 1x8/9 and Quietlines 800-1650 have black dash tins also.

In your picture, you are only seen 2 of the 3 Quietline stripes

You have the Thin Black / Blue with the model number in it (yours is faded to almost white) that is on the dash fiberglass piece. Then the thin black one that is on the tower. Yours doesn’t show the lower blue and thin black stripe because that is on the side panel, that is not installed on yours.

If you look at my pictures (look at the 1650, it’s a closer picture), the stripe that says 1650, and the next black one below it (that you can see the wingnut that holds on the side panel) are the two you are seeing on yours. That bottom one is on another piece of the bodywork…. The side panels on a Quietline cover most of the side of the dash tower when installed.

Thank you for the information. And as it is going back together I can see it. Previous owners painted the hood and grill and that is it not the frame or side panels. I guess this is what happens when you buy a trailer load of tractors and parts haha. Motor was out and no motor mounts but it’s going good. Runs pretty good and switched out the bad relief valve so it moves correctly now. Should have my rear lift by next Tuesday when I’m done with my work hitch.
