A gentleman stopped by this morning and asked if I could help with some questions concerning his 1282. With the steering troubles I could help. His question about the electric pto is one that I couldn't. He said that when he first starts using the pto it will work fine. He said that when it gets warm (hot) engine wise and he shuts the switch off then it won't re-engage until he shuts the engine off and lets things cool down. I asked him if he adjusted the pto according to recommendations and he said yes. Any help is greatly appreciated.

this might be a problem along the same lines as when an ignition get its hot it quites working. the electro-magnet coil might be on its way out, but dont qoute me on that. im no expert on electrical gizmos, i would rather have my older mechanical jobs lol

If i'm not mistaking I belive there is a relay in the clutch system, I would check that. Heat will cause relays to quit working, possible to much current draw.
