I broke the button off the lift lever on my 105. Don’t ask me how. Just me doing something stupid. How hard is it to replace the lever? Right now I use a bolt to push the button down so I can operate it. What needs to be replaced?

That release rod pin (#1) that broke is threaded onto a 5/16" rod (not shown) inside the handle assembly, this rod is not serviceable. The pin probably broke where the release rod lock (#4) groove is machined into the circumference of the pin. the remainder of this pin is likely still threaded onto that rod.

The only parts of that assembly that are serviceable are the release rod pin (#1), the spring (#2) and washer (#3) that are under it and secured by the release rod pin when threaded onto the rod as well as the rubber handle grip (#5) and the release rod lock (#4)

The lift handle ass'y {#6) and rock shaft were serviced as an assembly only,

You will have to find a way to un-screw the pin from the rod inside the handle ass'y, or cut the handle to access the internal rod, not for the faint of heart.

To remove the entire lift handle/rock shaft ass'y, remove the shaft brackets (#10) from the sides of the frame and drop the ass'y out from under the tractor.
Good luck!

Good info. Looks like a summer job since I don’t have a shop.
Do you know if the assembly is something that can be ordered or do I need to find salvage from someone? This is my first cub and kind of learning as I go. Want to use and not restore.

Doubtful any of the larger stuff is available, the smaller parts should not be too hard to find items
such as #'s 1,3,4 and 5.

Bet to just look for a used lift handle ass/y.
I've got one buts hipping would be an issue as it would take a huge box to fit it in.
Drop me a PM, maybe we can work something out, I see you are in MN, where bouts??
You ever get down this way, to Eastern Iowa, Waterloo, Dubuque area??

I’m in Shakopee which is just South of Minneapolis. Don’t get down your way much. I agree shipping is very expensive. Since we haven’t had much snow I’m not in a bind for it but would like to get it fixed. Think I will see if I can find something around here that will work.
Any idea what a salvage assembly would cost? Ball park. I know it’s worth whatever I’m willing to pay but would be nice to have a starting place.
Thanks for your help. It would take forever to get that info on my own.

I'd probably get that at a swap meet for 35-$40.
There's a guy over around Plato I believe that has a whole yard full of Cubs that look like they are being parted.
You might want to check over that way some time. I think I recall seeing them right in town, the place is not very big.
Been a couple years ago though since I was there.

Ray, I've done this...The bottom of internal rod is "L" shaped the L goes into the notches to hold in height position.I ended up bending the rod enough to get it out of notch plate. You'll have about 2 to 3 in of rod that can be driven up and out of the handle. That will allow removal of broken parts. The button is right hand thread(normal). One of my issues was broken spring parts so I had to push rod back down to fish out spring pieces.Had to use torch to heat rod to get it back right...If you want a quick(not Original) fix consider a 12v elec actuator.I'll post a pic of one I did,it's longer than neccessary..Just need to add mounts and a rocker switch..
