    Update on the SLT1550 Steering problem: Cut the "drag links" off, at the rear, where they flattened out with the hole for the plastic bushing, and threaded the rods 3/8"-28. Added a 3/8" "Heim joint" to each one, and "hand fit" them to the studs on the Radial gear assembly. I believe my steering...

    Found an original

    In the old days the "needles" were made of solid brass, and did not have the rubber tips, like todays. I still look for old carburetors to cannibalize parts. Also today's gasoline is also "sticky" after a month or so, because of the corn they mix into it.
