    Hello to everyone, I'm not a new member but first time poster.

    Mine was 3 bolts at each end. Disconnect the chain and the whole auger comes out . As for the bearings after that im not sure. Yours look about ready to fall out . Ma have to make a jig to press on new ones

    I was just putting my cub cadet 147 back together and noticed there are slots on the bottom of the axle where the spindles go in . Does anyone know what these slots are for. I assumed they were there to aid in the cast process. just curious. Thank you to all who respond. Rick

    i picked up a 147 to restore and it came with a snowblower. I removed every nut,bolt,and part on the rusty old snowblower. What a difference some TLC and hard work make. Put everything through the wire wheel or the sandblaster. only replaced 2 needle bearings, about 6 bolts, and the drive chain...

    The dissembling is almost done

    Almost finished the dissemble part of my 147 restoration project. I can’t believe the power of rust. Some parts were so seized I was hours getting them off /apart. Still have the brake pedal shaft giving me problems. I’ve been heating,tapping,soaking in penetrating oil for a couple hours a day...

    I tried spraying it with penetrating fluid for a week. Cracked the plastic trying to pry it off so I took the time.
