Go online and look for gas spouts -they sell kits with the vents and normal spouts -I have several! I think they were from EZ-pour?

    44A Deck spindles

I have found cleaning the deck and soaking it with used moor oil to be the best - it turns into a shinny black coating if you do it whenever you have the deck off -I do mine once a year

    Hydro Leak

    My Cadets

The 100 brings back memories of the first tractor my dad bought in 1964 -it had a 36' Mott hammer knife mower on the front. Also had a snow blower. It had the creeper drive. He traded it in 1979 - the year after I got out of college for the 1450 that I still use today

    Simplicity 6516

I've worked on a couple -both ended up having bad ignition switches -a little complicated how the wired the interlock if I remember right -but disconnecting the kill wire is definitely the starting point!

    149 dying out

my first job was at a place that sold JD tractors before I started -we had a couple for moving boats and mowing -I learned all about the stuck exhaust valves! engine would die then when it cooled the exhaust valve woud snap closed -I still have the adjustable reamer to clean the guides! (that...

My 72 died working in the garden, need help.

An easy test is to disconnect the point wire from the negative side of the coil. turn on the key. use a jumper wire or screwdriver to intermittently ground the negative coil terminal -you should get spark out of the coil (you are just acting like the points -if you get spark the coil is OK.

I'm not a Kohler expert by any means -but a smaller flywheel is going to have a less inertia -perhaps more noticeable just lower RPM?

Hi Folks- I was admitted to this forum a couple months ago -Thanks!. I Have chimed in on a couple post since but never introduced myself. My Dad bought my tractor in 1979 to replace the 64 100 with a Mott Hammer knife mower on the front (sure wish I still had that tractor -first thing I ever...

.20 Kohler piston (original) .20 Rings and 10 under Rod (Kohler)

I rebuilt the Kohler in my 1450 ~15 years ago -severe oil consumption and then I found severe detonation damage. So I went with a newer style piston and rod. The newer piston has a modern automotive style oil ring. It now burns NO oil. That's the good news. The BAD news is the engine vibration...

Peerless was part of Lauson (so was Techumseh) JD used the 4 spd peerless in their old 110,112s . A bunch of people used Peerless. I used to have all the microfiche cards where I worked -I'm sure they are long gone though.
