I think I have an incurable disease

Well, it's been close to 2 years since I have said anything about the old H. Life is busy and I don't tend to frequent the forums very much anymore. But today, September 26th 2024, marks 3 years owning the H. This tractor is the realization of a childhood dream of mine that never went away. I...

Cub Cadet 107 not charging - I am stumped

I'm not sure that harness was original to the tractor it came from anyway come to think of it, the wires all have plastic insulation and not cloth. If it comes down to it I'll probably just buy a whole new harness. But not going to do anything yet until I test my generator. Took some pictures...

Cub Cadet 107 not charging - I am stumped

The wiring harness is already a replacement harness, although not new. Came from a tractor of the previous generation. The original one was completely destroyed. I will try that test out and see what I find.

Cub Cadet 107 not charging - I am stumped

Hi everyone, it has been a good while since I've been around here. Been busy with other hobbies and other projects, but I have been working with and on my Cubs and the bigger IH stuff as well. But right now I have hit a road block that has left me completely stumped, and I would like some...

    1970 147 running WIDE open

The old plastic that was used for the governor gears weakens over time. What happens usually is the pins holding the weights in will back out, then hit things in the engine, causing the governor to self destruct often sending plastic parts all over the engine. The k161 in my Original had this...

That's one long driveshaft. And I see a creeper lever there on the tunnel, wonder how the heck they got that to work. As for power, I think the engine set in there now is one of these Continental inline 2 cylinder military engines, with a yellow paint job of course.

    Score!

If you want to see a real nice proper Cub grader, check this guy's stuff out. I'm sure this has been posted here before. He's gone on to also build a Cub mini dozer, and a Cub forklift. He does really good work.

    106 vs 127 vs 147 Newbie Questions

You could have hit or miss results with one of those cheap carburetors, though it looks like the one you took off the machine is already one of them so I guess you don't have much to lose. In my personal experience, the carburetor that has been running my 107 since I got it back working in 2020...

    106 vs 127 vs 147 Newbie Questions

I wouldn't be worried about power with the 106. You'll lose traction before you run out of power. My 106 is my primary worker of my collection, never had an issue with the power from the k241.

    Motor oil

I've yet to see a fully plastic camshaft, but multiple small Briggs lawnmower engines that I've dismantled have camshafts that are a single steel rod with a plastic cam gear and a plastic cam lobe piece attached to it. Governors have been plastic for decades. Of course, with our old Kohlers...

    WNY Cubs: 106, 107, 147, and Original

Gary, the model Y is a neat engine. Kick pedal start like a Maytag. I have one, with an output pulley on the flywheel side of the engine and nothing on the other. It runs, but no matter what I try I can't get it to run quite right, it seems like it's overheating.

    105 cub

I think the first question we should be asking, before jumping to conclusions, is it actually an electric clutch? Perhaps there is a misconception about the function of the narrow frame manual clutch. I think we need pictures of the machine before we can give proper input.

    1967 Massey Ferguson 10

I hate to hijack this thread but it's where I first spoke about the machine and I kinda want to finish it up here as well. Today the Ford ABS sensor arrived, the first piece of the puzzle. Last week I hollowed out the old solid state box just to see what actually was inside of it. But I wondered...

    1967 Massey Ferguson 10

Would've been nice to have the starter generator. Not sure how visible it is but I actually have the adjusting bracket for the starter generator so I suspect the whole engine was replaced, presumably by dealer as there was a Massey Dealer locally that the previous owner actually purchased it...

    1967 Massey Ferguson 10

I got it running, didn't take much. Just fixed up the wiring a little and checked over the fuel system. Carb was actually dry and clean which was nice. The throttle and choke don't work as the cables don't seem to reach the engine properly, but the carb itself is not the original to the machine...
