    Cub Cadet with hydraulic lift

I would like a gear drive machine someday! Is there a hydro reservoir tucked away there somewhere? I see pictures of the parts on google and there doesn't appear to be one.

    Cub Cadet with hydraulic lift

Funny you say that. I believe you mentioned working in the 280 & University area, I was just at my mother's house right in that area last night for the super bowl :) I only make it over there on the weekends, though.

    Cub Cadet with hydraulic lift

I had seen those tools, but wouldn't you know my impatience/boredom got the best of me and I worked it out with a hammer and punch. I did try to support the shaft and didn't wail on it too hard, so hopefully I didn't ruin anything. This is coming off the old pump, but I do want to keep it in...

    Next project...

Not sure if kidding or actually getting a plastic welder (which I recently learned was a thing), but would love to see pics of the joining and assembly as you go!

    Cub Cadet with hydraulic lift

Parts arrived a couple of days ago, and I got my tractor split. Next steps are: remove flex shaft mount bracket from old pump draining hydro fluid swap hydro pump+motor+filter fill with fluid reassemble tractor I am thinking I should run the new pump and motor without aux hookups to ensure...

Seafoam.... to use or not to use, that is the question.

I was just wondering the other day if I should do MMO+Sta-bil or just one, I was leaning toward both (y)

This may prove very helpful, thanks.

    Cub Cadet with hydraulic lift

Thanks! My rock shaft is already "modified" (I had to fabricate the part that the plow lift hooks on to), so further abuse of that part should be no problem. I was toying with the idea of keeping it separate from the rockshaft altogether and directly linking it to the plow blade or another...

    Cub Cadet with hydraulic lift

Thanks! I still have the narrow frame 107, I am thinking I might try to mount it outside of the frame, sort of like the optional kit for the 169. I really am not sure how much work this will be, if it's even possible, but the parts were the right price, I was just looking for the ported pump to...

    Cub Cadet with hydraulic lift

Wouldn't you know it, but some hydro lift parts from a 1250 found me, and should be here Thursday. I have been looking over the manual for adding the lift to a 169, as well as the parts breakouts for a 1450 on cubcadet.com. I think I get the gist of how it is setup on each machine, but if you...

Off Topic For Sale & Wanted Classifieds

Toro S-140 (often referred to as "snowpup") for sale. I actually had 2 running S-140s, each with some minor issues. Both had rusted chains, so I took the better parts of each and got some brand new chain to make one nice machine. It's old and loud, but it runs great and it is very lightweight...

    Cub Cadet with hydraulic lift

Thanks for the info! There is a 149 for sale near me that has me seriously thinking about where I might put my 107 to make room for it.

    Cub Cadet with hydraulic lift

Howdy. I've pretty much decided that I need an IH Cub with hydro lift. My brief research shows that you can get the ported charge pump on the Wide Frame 149/169, and then on Quietline 1450/1650 (and maybe some 1250s?). EDIT: looks like some of the *82 series may have hydraulics, but I didn't...

I did! It turned out OK, haven't had a lot of opportunities to try it out though. Using a garden sprayer at the moment.

I forgot to mention, I plan to sell most or all of the Toros and put any proceeds towards stuff for my Cub.

    Not a pretty sight!

Which seat did you go with? Would like to see pics of it installed either way! I am getting tired of my ripped Toro seat and have been eyeing the High and Low back options that Charlie has...

I am also working on making my own wood ash brine in an effort to further reduce my salt usage. The first batch didn't turn out too great, but I will try to grab some more pics while I filter my next batch and post them here. This looks like the only decent one I have handy from the first batch.

    Winter, 2019-2020

I have posted some pics/videos of my cub in another thread, but here are some pics of the non-IH things in my winter arsenal: Ariens ST520E (24"). This is my main snowblower, got it for cheap and had to weld in new nuts to hold the handle to the body. Starts on the first pull every time. I...
