Richard, here's the other pictures. Don't know why they wouldn't post. Maybe it was too much for one post.

Richard J. I'll try to post some pictures of the clevis you're talking about. I have several of the units and none of them have a jam nut. If you can't make out the dimensions that you need from the pictures, email me and I'll try to get the ones you need for you. Hope this helps

Wayne, you should be able to purchase coupler nuts from McMaster Carr. They have all sizes but you usually have to buy in quantity. I didn't look, but for 1/2" nuts they probably come in pretty small quantities.

Joe, if the voltage doesn't drop to zero on the negative side of the coil with the points closed, you're not getting good contact through the points. Try dragging a piece of paper through the points a couple of times. Even new points generally have a film on them that prevents good contact.

Thanks, Kraig. I was in a big hurry as well as just too lazy to repost the pictures on the forum.

    Model 750 Groundsaw

A gentlemen, Dan, ran across my Cub Cadet website and saw the pictures of my groundsaw. He contacted me about one he owns. He has a Model 750 which is completely self contained. It is powered by a 6 ½ hp Kohler and uses a winch to provide the forward motion. It’s a really neat outfit...

Don T. My wife and I insured our Cub Cadets through Hagerty. It was a whole lot cheaper than going through our homeowners and they seem like a great company to deal with.

Jeremiah, nice write up. The only thing you might want to add is a warning not to have the key on if you're going to use the ohm meter. That's a good way to blow up your meter or, at least, blow an internal fuse. I always do the test with the key on and the meter on volts. You should get...

Alex, are you planning to be at the Lanesville show? I hadn't planned to attend this year since I'm attending another show on Saturday. But I may try to make it on Friday just to see that fine job you did.

Paul, the Hawk Bilt groundsaw I have powers the forward motion of the Cub Cadet through the rear PTO. Although, I'd have to admit this is a very unique application and not something associated with every day operation.

Here's a tiger Cub built by my friend, Roger Kitterman. He found the 123 upside down in a junk yard and saved it.

A buddy of mine says he uses J*** D**** corn head grease. He says it works great. It apparently comes in a tube for use in a grease gun. I'm going to try it on my next rebuild although I may have my wife go in the store to pick it up for me!!!!

Marlin, I'd start by checking the output voltage of the starter/generator. If the battery is dead and the starter/generator isn't putting out any voltage, there's no voltage to the coil and nothing to fire the plug.

My son just uploaded the video of our CD-1 post hole digger here. (I haven’t the computer expertise or speed to do that so I’m at his mercy.) The video was a recording of only the second hole that I’d dug with the digger. We left a lot of dirt in the hole because I wanted to keep the video...

Thanks, Marlin. I haven't heard from Sam since I passed along the information you guys gave me. I'm hoping to check in with him next week. I'll update everyone when I find out.

I finally got around to trying out the Hawk Bilt groundsaw. I made a video here if anyone is interested in seeing it in operation. It's the first time I used it and may be the only time since I got it mainly for display. Hope you like the video.

Guys, thanks for the replies to my question about Sam's 125. I don't think they took the hydro apart, but I've referred all your responses to Sam. I'll let you know what he finds out. My email has been really unreliable for two weeks so it's hit and miss when I can get on here. Thanks again...

There’s a young guy named Sam Hornbeck who is working with his Uncle to restore a Cub Cadet 125. You may have read about Sam in LAGT magazine. Anyway, I got to know them when they asked a friend and me for some advice about the restoration. They’ve done a really fine job on the restoration...

Thanks for all the compliments. If you look here I think I've probably got an answer to all your questions. I try to post pretty complete descriptions of all my projects. I believe that helps promote the hobby. If any of your questions are not answered there, I'd be glad to post answers here...
