Hi Dale, This is a 'Genuine Briggs Part'. It was all Walmart had. We don't have much around here, and the local small engine shop is EXPENSIVE. I wasn't going to put one on it, but I wanted that extra layer of protection since I had just overhauled the carburetor. Thanks Dale!

Thanks Harry for all your help! That will be a tomorrow venture, provided it isn't raining

Harry, I put one on it a couple years ago when I rebuilt the carb. I made sure it was one of those little ones- the automotive type wouldn't allow the fuel to flow, as you said. I had to buy a new piece of fuel line because after switching out the old/new filter for the right one, the line...

Hi Harry, Thanks for the tips. Sifting through my owners manual now. I have the original one that came with the tractor, but I will download a PDF copy to put on my portable hard drive. Thanks again!

I got the engine tins Frank gave me put on my 108 today. I could feel the air being forced up in front of the PTO. Also, the hood didn't get anywhere near as hot as it did the other day. Once I got the engine tins on, I took it out to mow. Turned the blades on and heard a horrible sound. I...

Hi Harry, I hope you're doing well. I think they would still work fine, but I have to side with everyone else- hang 'em up. I haven't seen points that old NIB before, and that is one heck of a conversation piece. Just my 2 cents.

Sounds like a rough day Charlie. At least you can sit back and laugh about it a little, lol.

    Sears Suburban 10

Hi Ed, I can't believe you found that. If I had the money for it, I would own it. I hate being broke.

Hi Jason, We just moved into the house built by my great-Grandfather in the early 1900's. It is a Jenny Lind style home. We are SLOWLY working on getting it back into shape. Though I digress, I do agree that this is probably the best web site to talk about these old tractors. This may be...

Hi Jason, I see you are a relatively new member. I haven't issued you a formal welcome yet, so WELCOME! I see you are from Dayton Ohio. I just moved from Ohio down here to West Virginia. While I love it here, I do miss Ohio at times. Anyway, as far as your seat goes, I would go with...

Marty that 128 is beautiful. I'm jealous! I hope that one day my 108 will look that good.

    Sunrise and Sunset Photos

I was putting away our Suzuki 4 wheeler tonight, and looked up at the sky. It was just so pretty I had to take a pic: Please pardon the trash bags, I'm still working on getting caught up on trash burning. It's been raining so much down here it ain't funny! I hope to get a few from the...

Hi Marty, Thanks, I'll keep on plugging away at it. I've been going over how much I have put into it, and my figure is close to $900 (including the purchase, so about $575 in parts). I have done most of the labor myself- there were times I had to call in Dad to help, such as with the head...

Hi Wayne, Thanks for the extra tid bit of information. When I first bought the tractor, I had to put a head gasket on it. I didn't know it was blown, Dad spotted it and showed me how to tell. Since I had never done one before, Dad showed me how. I had him fix the head, and he did pretty much...

Hi Harry, Thank you very much for the words of wisdom. You are absolutely right- Frank C is heavily involved in the forum, and I always see him helping out when he can. I owe him a lot, not just for him helping me out with the tin, but for answering my questions over the past few years as...

Hi Frank! Greetings from West Virginia to Northern Maine! When I lived in Ohio, I purchased that 2135 as a basket case. It was a mess. This was the first tractor that I 'restored', but didn't spend a significant amount of money on (didn't have it then either!). I have since sold that tractor...

Thanks Harry. I know you are right, but when money is low it can be frustrating dealing with equipment that needs repairs, especially after putting 60 bucks into it already. I only gave $325 for the tractor, but I have much more than that in it. While it has been fun slowly fixing the...

    Wanted To Buy

Hi all, Looking for the engine tins for my 108. I have circled in red the parts I am looking for. Please note that for the muffler shield (part number 114), I do not have the noise suppression muffler, just the regular one. I also need the bolts to go with everything. Please email...
