    50C 5" Deck wheel replacement

Digger, I have to admit, I've had that deck, with the original wheels for the 20+ years I've owned the mower and deck, and that is the first issue I have ever had. The deck is on my 1985 1512D. I'm not sure if the wheel cracked and fell off or if perhaps the jam nut came loose and the whole...

    50C 5" Deck wheel replacement

Yesterday while cutting my grass, I heard a thump under my deck and realized, my deck wheel #14 in the illustration had fallen off, and I ran over it, destroying it. I looked for the shoulder bolt #15 in the illustration also, and could NOT find it. Here is my question. According to the...

Problem removing one of the mower blades on 50C deck

I did try it with my big 1 1/8" box end wrench after letting the penetrating oil sit overnight, and the spindle was still turning with the nut. Another night and a new 1 1/8" socket on my impact wrench and it came off without a hitch. There was a bunch of old dried out grass clippings under...

Problem removing one of the mower blades on 50C deck

Earl, I was just using a long 1 1/8" box end wrench. I have used an impact wrench in the past. I misplaced the socket I usually use, so I relied on the box end wrench. Actually, this wrench is about 15" long. It is the wrench designed for removing trailer hitch balls. I didn't have a...

Problem removing one of the mower blades on 50C deck

I have removed the mower blades on my 50C deck probably 50 times in the past. Today I tried to remove the blades to sharpen them. I used my normal method of using a 2x4 to prevent each blade I was removing to prevent it from spinning. When I got to the last blade (an outer blade, not the...

1512D Spiral pin on driveshaft keeps fallling out. What should I do?

Rich, Thank you for the diagram and instructions. I have been in contact with the guy who builds these replacement parts down (I'm in Western NY) in Pennsylvania and another Cub Cadet guy whoa also done this conversion. It seems like everyone knows everyone, whether they are on this forum or...

1512D Spiral pin on driveshaft keeps fallling out. What should I do?

Rich Beem, I sent you an email this morning, let me know if you didn't get it. Thank you again.

1512D Spiral pin on driveshaft keeps fallling out. What should I do?

Kraig, Thank you for that link. I really would love to fix it for good, but that is definitely a more economical solution. I would still love to find out if anyone is capable or willing to machine the parts to do the CV fix at a reasonable cost. I am out of work right now, so your solution...

1512D Spiral pin on driveshaft keeps fallling out. What should I do?

For about the 5th time in the last 6 years or so, the spiral pin (I hope that is the correct term) on the front end of the drive shaft fell out again on my 1512D. Replacing it at the dealer isn't a gigantic expense since they normally charge the $1 for the pin and 1/2 hour labor to get to it...

    Radiator hoses for a 1512D?

I apologize for it taking me almost a year to reply back to my original question, but I finally had my dealer take care of my radiator hoses, water pump, thermostat and a few other things to keep my 1512 in top running condition. It was the water pump that was leaking, but replacing the rest of...

    1572 Diesel Turbo Install

MY CC dealer is also a Kubota dealer, so I think they try to get me the better prices, but I wish I had known about the Water Pumps Steve referenced before my dealer ordered one for me. As good as they have been to me, I don't think they would appreciate me bringing in parts I bought elsewhere...

    1572 Diesel Turbo Install

Steve, If you look at my thread in this forum about radiator hoses (Part #'s 345-3019 and 345-3020) for my 1512D, (https://www.ihcubcadet.com/forum/messages/22774/297234.html?1434974365) you will see that they do not make the radiator hoses anymore. It appears your 1572 uses the same hoses as...

    Radiator hoses for a 1512D?

Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions. Jim, I think that flexible hose from Gates may just be the answer to my prayers for the lower radiator hose on my 1512D. If the dealer hadn't already ordered the upper replacement hose from the Kubota RTV500, I would probably replace that one...

    Radiator hoses for a 1512D?

Bernie, thank you for the suggestion. Those certainly aren't cheap, but one has to do what one has to do. I have actually cut my grass a few times since I had the problem, and haven't lost any fluid. Technician swears the water pump was leaking, and I know when I was cutting really high grass...

    Radiator hoses for a 1512D?

My dealer has told me that he would like to replace the radiator hoses on my 1512D. I know that my water pump is leaking and I'm not sure if the radiator hoses that he wants to replace are 100% needed or just a suggestion based on the fact that he says they are the original ones. This...

    Computer question. . . .

Wayne, There is a website called SecurityTango.com There are directions and links to download all free versions of applications for each step. I do recommend having a full functional "real" virus protection program, but even for that, they have free versions. If you log onto the page and...

    Gator Blades for Haban deck

Allen, What I meant to imply in my reply, was that I bought the replacement Gator blades (I actually think I may have bought them at JacksSmallEngines) and they work great. So, I don't think the Vertical Drop and Air Lift dimensions affect their use. The Width and Thickness dimensions "might".

    Gator Blades for Haban deck

Mark, I can't say they will or will not work. Someone here may be able to tell you whether some of the dimensions will hinder you or not. On the Oregon website, if you look up their replacement for the Cub Cadet 759-3411 blades, I assume those are the ones for a 60" deck looking at the Parts...

Trying to identify this "plug" on my 1512D

Bernie, I do have a "engine block" heater (or whatever it hooks up to) for winter time. Is that what you are referring to? If so, I will have to track the connection down to reattach it. Is it bad to run the engine without this hooked up until I track the right place to plug it back in...

Trying to identify this "plug" on my 1512D

I just finished cutting a bunch of tough grass in the back 3 acres of my mothers house and upon cleaning up the accumulated grass on the deck and under the machine, I saw this hanging down a little. It appears to come from somewhere near the starter under the hood, but I haven't had dirty...
