    Differences between the 185 and 154

    A 184 came with a little more horsepower . They had a flywheel with teeth and a starter to match. The others had the delco starter generator belt driven.

    Checked out the balancing company and the cost is around 200 to 300 dollars to balance the crank. If you add gaskets and other thing needed along with tires, belts, filters, oils and other odds and ends I will have more invested than the tractor is worth. Think I will take Greg's advise.

    My engine runs fine. the vibration is what I don't like. No balance gears but is .010 oversize. I understand Kohler pistons and also the piston pins were made lightweight for the 14 and 16hp engines to help with the vibrations. Mine being aftermarket makes them heavier so that makes it more...
