    Making a wildlife Food Plot

Kraig: Looks like at least a 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 year old deer, and well outside the ears.I'd say maybe an 18-inch spread, with good mass?! Looks like you got yourself a "wall hanger"! Course you probably just gonna' let him grow, right? Bobby B.

On the topic of bearings...., not that I'm comparing the two,but..Rolls-Royce recommends inspecting clean bearings with a 2X magnifier, and that's on a turbine engine operating at 56,000 RPM. All used bearings will show some wear marks;the point being don't look at 'em too hard or you'll replace...

    A Different Kind of Problem

Kraig; You're correct about the white oaks having a "rounder" leaf edge;but them ain't whiteoaks. However,if any of y'all would like some white oak seedlings or acorns, just let this redneck know.I have about 50 white oak trees on my little piece of property, and will gladly ship out...

    Making a wildlife Food Plot

Frank; Good looking food plot! Ditto what Kraig said about mowing. Probably two or three mowings a season will keep it in good shape. I also use the Whitetail Imperial Clover with good results. Deer will walk past rye and oats to get to it. Clover generates it's own nitrogen so fertilize...

Kraig; If you can get them and if they'll grow in your zone,I recommend saw-tooth oaks. It's a rapid growth oak that makes acorns in 3-5 years, and it is a favorite of deer and turkey. They can be purchased through most nurseries, and if you can't find any I'll mail you some this fall. Just let...

Kraig; Sorry to hear you won't be able chase birds this spring.Hope it isn't a health issue! Turkey hunting is my biggest challenge and I will really miss it when I can no longer get after 'em! The shed looks like a match. Should be a great deer come October! Bobby B.

Been huntin' hard for three weeks and finally connected this morning! Three to four year old gobbler;beard was 11-1/2" long, and spurs were 1-1/8". Got him to gobble early, but he got henned up. Went back to him at 9:00 a.m.,got a strike, and worked him for about 30 minutes until he couldn't...
