    1711 Ready for Sap

Also nothing better than the sweet smell in the sugar house during boiling.

    1711 Ready for Sap

Here is a close up of the bracket I connected to the frame. I am sorry the lighting isn't very good. You can see the c channel I connected to the frame with two bolts. The other side is mounted the same way. I did have to cut the top edge off the c-channel because the battery tie...

    1711 Ready for Sap

Snow finally going and been doing some backyard maple sugaring. Carrying buckets with sap was getting old so spent a few hours today building a rack for the back of my 1711. I connected two sections of c-channel to frame (bolted in existing holes) and put a 2x4 deck onto the channels. Cold...

Setting the valves on Kubota D600 and others

Sorry Don, I just put down what was in the service manual. Yes they are inch measurement. The strange part is the manual lists one range as "Factory specification" (0.00571 to 0.00728 in.). Then in another section it lists (cold) (0.0059 to 0.0071 in). I agree with Allen's...

    1512 engine alignment

Thanks Matt, I have to say after 6 years and 380hrs of running the flex rags with carrage bolt there were no signs of cracking where the square part hits the holes. The square part is not that large and fits right into the holes on the flex rag.

Mike, What is the sprocket size you used for your hydraulic motor on your snowblower?

    1572 gear reduction starter

Thanks Charles, Something I have been thinking about for some time on my 1512. Does the 1572 use a lawn and garden battery or can you fit a car battery into it?

    1512 engine alignment

Yes that was my exact problem a few years ago. PO must have swapped out bolts. According to the parts lookup they list: 710-3034 Bolt, 3/8 X 1-1/4 Crg Type 5 You can see by the attached image the carrage bolt clears the head of the other bolt without any grinding.

    1512 engine alignment

A few years ago I notice the bolt heads hitting on the coupler. Did some parts lookup and found that one set of bolts should use carriage bolts. Switched mine out and they never hit again.

    1512 engine alignment

Thanks Don, I already have a cork gasket (purchased a while ago) so I think I am going to stick with that. Figure that 7 years and 400hr is pretty good on a gasket. Also this leak gave me an excuse to do a complete rear end check (diff cover, clean out, etc). Everything looked great in...

    1512 engine alignment

Last week we received a few inches of snow (4-6inchs) so I got out the 1512 and plowed the driveway. After finishing I put is away in the garage and the next morning found a large puddle of transmission fluid. Examination of the leak turned out to be the cork gasket between pump and housing...

Dual Hydraulics 1711 - Help needed

Yes that was my take on it. My 1512 has the dual levers but looks pretty involved to pull the levers off the machine. In the end if that is what I have to do I will do it. Thanks for all the help.

Dual Hydraulics 1711 - Help needed

Thanks Joshua, Was looking for a photo of one off the tractor on a table or something. From the parts diagram it looks like the left lever is attached directly to the shaft The left side moves the right side valve. Right lever rides on the shaft center shaft of the left lever and moves the...

Dual Hydraulics 1711 - Help needed

Hello All, I was able to find a 2 spool hydraulic valve for my 1711 but was having trouble finding the dual levers setup to operate the valve. Does anyone have any good photos of the dual lever setup? I am wondering if I could modify (carefully add a second lever) the single lever set up...

Also check out ford escorts early models may have been 13" but later had 14". they are running 4 bolts at 4" spacing. Used wheels from an escort to make trailer for my cub. Once I enlarged the center hole the rim fit a standard trailer hub (4 bolt 4" spacing).
