    Work begins on 104

Ok I am feeling totally stupid! I went to remove the valves and while I got the valves out I couldn’t seem to get the valve spring and caps out. I have rotated the engine so everything is as low as it gets. Seems like things catch on either the push rod or the valve guides. The photo below...

    Work begins on 104

Made some more progress. Flywheel off and engine received second bath with a scrub brush. Wanted to give it a good clean before I start opening it up. Flywheel side look pretty good with dry dust/dirt. Pulley side was oily with a good mix of dirt. Seal doesn’t look very good! Will...

    Work begins on 104

Well not as pretty as the other removers but it did the job! I didn’t have round pipe in the correct size so I used angle and some flat stock. When I tightened up the remover the entire remover started to angle. One short tap with a hammer on the side pulling away and the pulley/basket popped...

    Work begins on 104

Thanks Everyone. The clutch is removed. I am working on the pulley with the basket. I like the puller idea. Will check my metal supply tomorrow. Looks like a pretty simple design with the right sized material.

Pulley set screws off. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get the pulley off without damaging it? Steel seems too thin to use a pulley.

THANKS! Removed the additional set screws and was able to get the clutch off. Tired to get pulley set screws off. No luck but will let pb blaster work some magic on them. Hopefully after a good soak they will free up. Try again tomorrow.

    Work begins on 104

Almost wrapped up on the loader build so I started another project. The other year I was given a 104 by a friend. Not a runner but most of the parts there. I tore into the engine k241 over the weekend. This is my first single cylinder kohler. Well after degreasing the engine I started...

    Cadplan loader for 1512

$95.20 at the local Case tractor dealership. Called a couple dealers and everyone was the same.

    Cadplan loader for 1512

Just picked up new blood for the transmission!

    Cadplan loader for 1512

Thanks for your advice! Was planning on adding a pump at some point just to allow easier use of existing hydraulics. When I activate the loader Hydraulic loop I can’t use the 3 point lift. This can be addressed with some replumbing of The entire hydraulics system but not a lot of extra space...

    Cadplan loader for 1512

It is running off the ported hydro pump on the tractor. So whatever that volume that is. I believe online I saw someone list it as 1-2 gpm.

    Cadplan loader for 1512

Thanks everyone! Have only put a few minutes on the loader so far. Overall seems to work pretty well with the tractor hydraulics. Speed is good and will lift a full bucket of driveway mix. Hope to give it a good workout soon as I want a load of gravel for the driveway. New seat arrived today...

    Cadplan loader for 1512

New Paint a little more yellow than existing paint on tractor. I used irongard federal yellow. New paint might be in the future for the 1512! Nothing fancy as this is a work machine but the fresh paint on loader makes the tractor look tired. Other maintenance first. Will do hydro fluid...

    1711 Driveshaft Upgrade

Email to Jeff from PA and ordered new pump adapter and CV Driveshaft. Mounted the pump adapter and took drive shaft Measurement. You can see the cut oil filter right under the new pump adapter.

    1711 Driveshaft Upgrade

Two weeks ago when my son backed the 1711 into the shed after mowing it started to leak fluid (Lots!). After checking things out turns out driveshaft bushings (both ends), pump adapter and driveshaft were all bad. This allowed the rubber disks to rub the oil filter and cut it open! Well time...

    782 hydro help?

Also double check the driveline. I have had spiral pins break but stay in place. When put the hydro under a load the shafts slips. An easy check is to Watch the pump shaft that comes out the rear of the pump. It should spin with the even when you stop the tires. You might also want to...

PTO on my 1512D cuts out (stays in upward position though) when mowing grass after 45 minutes to an hour.

I would check the manual and make sure the pto air gap is correct. I had a similar issue with the clutch shutting off after it got hot. Gap was off. link to manual: http://ccmanuals.info/pdf/882-1512%20Owner%20Manual.pdf
