Digger, If you found it there, let me know, I'm looking at the Kohler manual and the part number is not listed anywhere, I figured someone with a Super Garden Parts book could help, I only have TC-113 and TC-157. Kenny

My turn on torquing head bolts/nuts: I have always used lubrication on threaded fasteners. Each manufacturer does tests and will provide the correct torque you need on THEIR fastener with the lube or no lube that they specify. ARP fasteners recommends a specific torque with 30 wt and a totally...

Had a great day today with the Green Guys at Deere Day II hosted By Stan Barnes at the home of Sylvain Lessard near Waterbury Ct.. They are one class act. A frequent forum lurker, Todd, introduced himself and commented on how he had been following the forum since the Voyager days and asked how...

That head kept a lot of cylinder head exchange companies in business, along with the insufficient heat treatment of the camshaft lobes, but that's another story....

One company, VPI, Vacuum Pressure Integration, does just that to impregnate porous castings with sealants of several types.

We (Moore Tool) paint all of our machine castings inside because of porosity. Remember all the Chrysler 2.2 engine blocks that liked to weep coolant out through their pores? Cast Iron is porous, I've seen oil wick out through old machinery castings that weren't painted inside. Detroit for years...

Balance Gears on Epay? I couldn't GIVE mine away. I have 3 Magnum 16's I'm working on, only one has the gears in it. The other two have unmachined bosses for the stub shafts. My 16 hp K has them, Ive seen 14's and 12's with and without them in K Series, never saw a 10 hp with them. Kenny

IH Cub Cadet Pulling and Hot Rodding

Todd, Dumb question, Is the condensor on the NEGATIVE terminal of the coil, same as points? If on the POS. side, it will not allow past idle speeds without choking and dying. FYI, Kenny

Calvin, I have a 1000 that I am converting to a 1600. They never made a QL gear drive over 12 hp like the one you have. Some people love them, some hate them. I used to be a narrow frame only guy but got my 1000 for a steal and it is growing on me. The QL's were also Hydro Harry's favorite...

Randy, Rich, The O'rings for the relief valves are standard Buna N O-rings, size -016 and -116, available at any bearing supply or hydraulic supply place. Kenny

Jim W., All the 14's and 16's I've rebuilt had #30 carbs on them. I'm sure a #26 would work but it may tend to be on the lean side. 10's and 12's used the #26 carb as well. Kenny

Mike L., Check the valve lash, Intake .009, Exhaust .018. Also check the wire going to the points, make sure no strands are grounding out around the grommet. Make sure the condensor is on the Negative side of the coil or else it will backfire and not rev up. If you feel like it sometime...

Gary S., The PTO Clutch has to be removed first, It is what was held on to Bearing with the 6 set screws. THEN, you need to remove the PTO Bearing by loosening the collar., THEN you can remove the 2 set screws that hold the PULLEY on to remove it from the crankshaft. In a nutshell 1.)...

John N., Take them out with a 1" socket or wrench. They each use a -016 and -116 O-ring on them as well as a teflon back up ring. I remove all 3 from the valve prior to soaking in acetone and replace the o-rings on reassembly. I did a bunch for Hydro Harry a while back, just a basic ball...
