anti seize on a K block

I usually clean all threads with a thread chaser, Not a Tap, chamfer the top to remove the first thread to avoid pull-out, oil and torque the bolts, then run through 3 heat/cool cycles and check/re-torque as needed. My 0.02, I've built too many K-Series to count and all are still running.

Looking for the double pulley for Original timed deck.

How about broaching a new keyway 180 degrees across from the existing one?

    149 dying out

Carbon buildup on guide and valve shaft. Easy enough to clean, just need a head gasket, valve spring compressor, a lapping stick and some compound.

Re: Carb Floats: Hold a suspect float submersed in very hot water. If there are any holes or cracks, the air inside the float will expand with the heat, causing it to force its way out the crack or hole creating air bubbles that are easily visible.

Jim C, Is the points saver wired correctly? Condensers need to be on the Negative side of the coil, along with the points wire. Is this how the points saver is wired?

Roland, Weren't there both smooth and indented versions of the hydro levers on the 1x5 through 1x9 series hydrostats? I thought I remembered Hydro Harry showing me the one on his 169 with the (2) indented pockets and then seeing one with a smooth top surface? I know both interchange, just...

G.L., Where'd you get the old air deflector for the starter side? They stopped using those with the 2/3 series I thought. The newer straight side panel suposedly keeps the engine just as cool without allowing all that space for grass and debris to accumulate. My .02 Kenny

Ed, Just make sure the oil hole in the rod cap faces the camshaft, or else the motor will quickly sieze up. Kenny
