Ok, thanks. I rarely run south on C/M road so don't know that stretch of road like others. My work is on Wooster Rd at 8th St.

Just curious, where was the dealership at? I've worked in Barberton for 34 years now. L&L was the IH Truck dealer if I recall. I've dealt with Robin on truck repairs for work in years past.

    Tie rod ends

The stock ones didn't have grease fittings, so not sure why I think these would be better? Likely worse in the long run. Oh well, doubt I'll worry about having to replace them in my next 20 yrs.

    Tie rod ends

I put Digger Heims on both the 127 and 149. Only bad thing is there is no boot on the joint so dirt is easily attracted to the greasy surface. Don't think it is a big deal, but I suppose it all depends on your usage.

IH Cub Cadet White/Yellow Spray Paint

I hit my local automotive paint store and they mixed up the correct white and put it into 2 large spray cans for me. Had about $25 in it. Did the four wheels on my 127. I plan on repainting the deck on my 149 this winter.

Here you can see the rod across the bottom of the picture.

    42" Blade Question

The pivot pin for the blade is removable on mine, from the PO. Mount the frame easily, then just slide the blade up to it, tip the back up and with the wheels turned hard one way, slip the rod in and install the hitch pins to secure it. The PO always added 6" to each side of my 42" blade to...

Starting to work on 127 again

The voltage just fluctuates a few tenths. I'll try the separate ground wire just to prove things are okay there. The tractor overall is decent condition, but I replaced the harness because I don't want to deal with a failure in the future due to no insulation in various spots. My 149 harness...

Starting to work on 127 again

The ground is good. I removed the lid from the regulator and was able to force the points closed and watched my Fluke meter run right up to 15 volts, until I let the points go and it then settled back down to 12.6 or so. I cleaned the points and it would go 12.9. So, yes, I just need to...

Starting to work on 127 again

Well, the harness showed up Friday afternoon. I spent the evening getting it installed. It went pretty painlessly, my only issue was changing the ignition plug over to eyelets to match the switch that is in there. Not sure if the factory switch used a 3 prong plug? It appears someone put...

IH Cub Cadet S/W Change & Group Builder Welcome

Ok, no problem. Thanks. So many times "unsubscribing" doesn't do a thing when you get on some email listing. I will try it.

IH Cub Cadet S/W Change & Group Builder Welcome

Can I shut the email's off that I get every day about what's going on here? I've unchecked every option in my preferences. Not that it's a big deal, but I just don't need to see them.

Starting to work on 127 again

Well, I spent the evening getting the old harness out. It was near impossible to get drug out due to being stiff as a 2x4 oak board!!! While I was under there I decided to pull the steering box too. It works great, smooth, not a lot of slop, but figured since I was there. I rebuild the front...

Charlie.........LOL!!! You need to use a well worn rope...it won't chafe the skin as bad.... OR, as it was said on Blazing Saddles............."Oh, Brother, they said you was hung". Sheriff Bart "And they was right". Mike, I have replaced the positive cable but the negative is quite...

Starting to work on 127 again

Thanks guys. Mine was missing that angle piece, it had some other rigged up piece of plate and I knew it was not correct and that is why I was confused on how the battery was placed. Agree on the picture posting!!

Starting to work on 127 again

I received my new electric lift motor. I got it assembled and installed. Works nicely. Only real problem is the wiring harness is pretty rough(insulation dry and falling off). Time to upgrade. I ordered a replacement harness, including lift harness and new lift switch since mine is sticky...

My condolences Steve. I wish I had some pictures handy from a fellow I knew in Michigan that built a few scale tractors. Just using bits and pieces kind of things and they were amazingly accurate. He hauled them on a downsized drop deck behind his downsized Peterbilt. Met him through the...

Marty...AWESOME job on the 100. That does NOT resemble ANYTHING of the 100 I had when I was young...... Mine was used way too hard and put away way too wet. I gave it away like 25 yrs ago.

Well, to finish up my "rattl'n hood" issue....I had some 1/2" thick foam seal tape from a project on my Mack. A couple short pieces stuck to the grille support(under the hood lip) and WOW...quiet!! Real quiet. Now I can hear the birds chirping while I mow. Though the hinge pin is now...
