here's my take on repairing the hood hinge on my 109. i used 5/16 keenserts from mcmaster-carr, i used them for years when i was working and never had any problems so i'll use what i know works, and they're easier than heli-coils.- mconway

yeah jim, it does serve my needs and usually the only trailers it moves are at our sailing club getting boats to the beach but i have moved my 14 x 6 flatbed with it.- mconway

I need an exhaust elbow for my 109. McMaster Carr doesn't have a direct replacement so I was thinking of getting a short nipple, cut just above the threads, cut the elbow above the threads and tig weld the elbow to whats left of the nipple. looked in the archives and seems to have been done...- mconway

dennis and anybody else that needs to repair internal tapped holes might want to try "keenserts" if you haven't already. I used these on a ton of stuff at work over the years. I attached a pdf and if i wasn't supposed, sorry. Like i said these things work great and you can get good results...- mconway

Just thought I'd throw this out there. Has anybody used the Low Friction Molded Brake & Clutch Lining from McmasterCarr for brake rebuild? I need to do my 109 and thought about trying this. It's $21 for a 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 sheet. Just wondering. Thanks in advance.- mconway

I haven't posted here in quite a while so I figured I'd do it today after getting some quality time with my 109. Got the lawn rolled finally but there were a few soggy patches but she handled it ok. That roller is an old hot water tank, 48x16 filled with concrete and weighs in at about 700 lbs...- mconway

Anthony, i use NAPA Chemicals MAC's - Regular, part number MAC 6402, $26/gal but I've had mine for about 6 years and still use it. Just take carb apart, bowl off and float off body, you can take needles out if you want to but if you don't, shouldn't be a problem. put it all in the basket and let...- mconway

Bill J, I have a 109 and had the same issue with the muffler. I decided to braze the end back on and that was about 10 years ago and she's still goin' strong. Just my $.02...- mconway

Are rear wheel dimensions available on the site anywhere? Harry, did the needle/seat assy last year and today check things out and mowed the lawn with no problems. If it happens again I'll tear into it but if it works, leave it.
