can anybody tell me if spacer PN/ IH-473431-R3 are hardened or are they just a standard bushing/spacer? these i believe are the cone spacers that go inside the spindle between the bearing cones. some thoughts for my 42"....thanx- mconway

my spacers all mic about .367 and on the pulley end, that is still enough to get above the seal and provide a surface for the washer. But on the cup end(bottom) the spacer sits below the surface by about .025-.030, and the spindle cup runs on the spindle housing not the spacer. some of the...- mconway

Jeremiah, i thought that was what i was seeing in the cross section drawing and was waiting for somebody to chime in. for whatever reason, the seals that i pulled out were installed in the "normal" fashion. not sure i like the idea of inverted seals, seems as tho grease would end up on the...- mconway

another day...still a clusterf%$#...anyway, after speaking with charlie at ccs last nite, he agreed with my analysis of the problem. somewhere along the line these were reassembled bass-ackwards. so today i have all the spacers pulled out now time for some light heat and press time and hopefully...- mconway

my idea seems right to me as i did a test. i tapped one bearing into the housing a little more and they seemed to lock up, like the cone spacer is tight against both inner cones on the bearings, i'm thinking that it should be a little bit free in there. as the other ring mics out at...- mconway

thanx for the replies jeff, matt, charlie, kraig. i'm going to order 6 spacers and maybe a couple extras to grind down if need be for the clearance issue. right now as assembled, the bearings are good and the spacer is between the bearings on all three spindles, the Outer Bearing Spacer PN/...- mconway

thanx kraig. nic if you look at the piece, it's not a full radius as it comes off of the bottom which is flat so i just want to get it close. i just need a measurement of the base to the top of the mounting hole. the runner is in the pics somewhere on this page. here's a pic of a good one.- mconway

ok....is there any engineering drawings available or does anyone have the dimensions for the left runner(3/8 round not flat) on 42 inch deck? i need to do some heat and bend massage on the one that came with my 42 and just thought i'd ask. the main dimension i'm looking for is the radius on both...- mconway

ok...need to clarify what i said and got misunderstood yesterday. for my 42" deck, i tried to find bearing seals for the spindles locally and ended up going to kaman bearing. i took all the parts, old seal and both pieces of the spindle so if they couldn't cross reference the trostel number...- mconway

went to kaman bearing and they had a hard time matching pn's....long story short, ccs has 'em...that's where i went... $8.50 vs $13....no brainer and i wouldn't get all 6 til the end of june....just sayin'...- mconway
