    PTO Clutch set screws

The 5/16-20 tap is available from mcmaster. but I cant find the set screws anywhere. maybe Digger has a bunch. I would go that route but it would make me purchase a new tap and a 17/64 bit. but it would be a 100% fix.

    PTO Clutch set screws

I know this is an old thread, but I would like to know if anyone has successfully drilled and taped to a larger dia. set screw. I only need to do one of the three holes. For one cone point and one set screw. kayaker2

Replaced Starter Now Broken S/G bolts

When I switched out the pulley for a PTO I switched the starter mount on this black k181. to run on my 71. previous owner must have set it up for an original. I remember how far I had to reach to engage the PTO on the original, I had to engage the mower drive before mounting tractor with my red...

Replaced Starter Now Broken S/G bolts

I got them out easy with left hand drill bit. no easy out needed. Replaced with Grade 5 found the head of the bolt that was in there, It was a soft 1 or 2 grade with no markings. Take a look at the two starter brackets. I am using the cast one. Was the welded one home made? I swap out the other...

Replaced Starter Now Broken S/G bolts

After grinding up leaves for 2 hours, I found the two bolts snapped that hold the Bracket to the Engine boss. what could have happened there? I used original bolts with lock washers I thought. I know I will need to easy out both of them. if they are grade 8 its going to suck. KAYAKER2

rrschmitt, Belt IH-401960-R1 is what i have on., SG spins fine. alignment of the two pulleys does not good. I used a straight edge and it looks like the large pully is too far forward by <1/16 inch. The bolt came loose at one time for the SG support bar( I guess it is called that). and must have...

Starter generator belt wants to ride upside down

I replaced the belt with a Cub cadet part and it keeps flipping over. I don't think it is too loose or tight. I am going to check pulley alignment this afternoon.

    Almost fell off

dschwandt, Dont get me wrong I enjoy my 71 and The 3 speed. Im not 15 like I was when I mowed in the 70's. I don't plan on mowing by traversing hills sitting on the round fenders anymore either. And Robert I have metal and screw in my left ankle. Lets blame it on the titanium!
