Bob Elliott, I don't know where you live, but there is a guy close to me that has all the parts for the S/G and does repairs. He is very reasonable and knowledgeable. He is located not far from Lancaster, PA

Scott R. I ran into the same problem recently. I bent the old one taking it out. I got a new piece of rod at Home Depot and threaded the one end like the old one, cut it to length and installed it. I made a tool to bend the end after it was installed. Used a piece of larger round stock and...

Would someone please post the plans for making the rear weight using the 5 gallon plastic bucket. The one pictured in the light bracket photo. Seems like a good idea and quick to make.

Gene Preston, On the hard starting problem. Make sure all your krimp connectors are tight. Best to solder them. I chased a problem for months and found that the large krimp connector at the + terminal of the battery was not tight.

Frank Morski, I had a 147 crank turned last year for $30. Also had the engined bored .020" over for $29. Total bill for piston w/rings, rod, and gaskets was around $190. This was for NAPA parts and was done at a NAPA machine shop.

Steve Blunier, Thanks for the photo of the rear anti-scalp roller. That is just what I needed.

Could someone post the rear anti-scalp roller modification to Cub mower decks? I would like to do that to my QA48 deck. Also, any of you guys with the electric lift have one apart that you could send me the dimensions of the brass bushing in the barrel at the opposite end from the motor? It...

Decided to check the electric lift on the 147 prior to mounting the snowthrower. :-( Bad news, the gear on the screw needs dental work. Well, for now I am putting the "armstrong" lift on. Anyone buy one of those gears lately? The other problem is that the brass bushing that was supposed to be...

Richard Lathrop, I was able to buy the anti-vibration tape from my Cub dealer. You could probably buy plain old dense, foam tape for there. For the seat snubbers, I went to my local hardware store and found some gromments for wiring that are working just fine.

Steve Selinger, I also purchased the hood bumpers from MTD for my 147. They were cut just as you said. They would not stay on so I used a short piece of either 5/8" or 3/4" heater hose, but did not slit it. I don't understand how MTD expects them to stay on. The heater hose has stayed on...
