Need to edit the original post. I meant to say it a 11hp Briggs. I have zero clue why I said 8hp. Thanks again Jim

    482 Throttle link

Long story short I need to make the throttle linkage from the governor arm to carburetor on a 482. Basically it a wire bent in a s hook. Am i wrong in my thinking that if I measure the distance between the two at wide open and at Idle positions that will get me the info I need? It is a 8 horse...

well S!@#. now I am curious what it maybe. Have you tried feathering the choke as its surging to see if it smooths up? Not so much to flood it but to maybe richen up the fuel? If that helps to me it sounds like its running lean. Why or where is it sucking air if you did seal it I have no clue...

Jim, I don't know if this is your problem or not but look at the intake manifold. The one that was in my brothers 982 done exactly that. Not knowing any better at the time I put a new carb on it and went threw the whole ignition system to fix it. It did get a little better but still surged. Came...

Well I think I woke the 982 up a lot with a New carburetor from Charlie. It did have a new one on it that I got elsewhere but a very cheap knock off. ( forgive me for being broke and trying to do it cheap?) I am going to move the governor spring in one hole to be a little more sensitive. Mowed...

In the processes there of. That what made me wonder on that rod deal. Or whatever its called. Got a new carb from Charlie to put on it. Plugs are white with the new carb I first put on. But I got it at the spring Portland show. Now it was brand new but that all I can say for it. I took a $30...

Ok now for somebody smarter that me. On the throttle arm that hooks on the governor to the throttle shaft on carburetor on a kt17 or a mag 20, All mine except one has the rod with the plastic clip that snap back into rod once installed. But every carb I get new or used I have to drill out The...

Steve, what holes are your governor springs hooked at? I am thinking mine are not set very sensitive.

Ok for those that have put a mag 20 in a 982 and run a 60in deck with it I have questions. Maybe I was expecting to much but to me this mag 20 doesn't seem to have the pep I thought it would. Now I did put a carb on it off a kt17 and opened the main fuel screw up a half around more. with no load...

Good evening, Got one of those full circle stories I would like to share with you all. I will try to keep it short. Now I have owned a few 82 series cubs but the one in this story is my brothers, Bought my first house in late summer of 2005 and had to borrow a friends mower because I had...
