    My 149 has the sparkplug over the exhaust valve if that is any help. It has the one in the top engine tin and one in the muffler shroud.

    I used to teach a small engine class to high school students. I used Briggs and Stratton teaching material. It had some interesting facts: Average life of a push mower is 2-3 years. Average life of a lawn tractor is 3-5 years. Average life of a garden tractor is 5-7 years.

    When my 149 had a problem breaking pins in the driveshaft when it had 10.50s tires on it. I went to 8.50 wide tire and haven't broke a pin since. That was 6 years ago. I use a 10 inch plow.

    Doug, Looks like the blade frame is a 2nd generation frame that was design quick attach system. My blade doesn't have any pins welded in it. My 100 pushing dirt last summer: Front view:
