Hi all! I haven't been online in a few days' been busy plowing and mowing with my "O". I noticed that there was a discion about mounting a stump grinder on a cub a couple days ago. I used to work for a woodchiper factory a few years ago, so I thought I'd put in my 2c. The smallest stump...

Hi all. Is it ok to use 80/90 gear lube in the rear end of an "O"? If so, how much should I put in? I'm thinking about doing a lube job on mine and I don't know if I need a heavyer gear lube.

Ken L I agree they would probibly not have half the power of a true Original if they put a "fancy" new fule sipper of a motor on the "new" original. Then again, this would be a great chance to show the "O's" true potential. Maybe they could stick a nice oil burnner on it? Just my .02

Myron Nope I didn't see a ground wire running from that part of the VR. Sorry about the mix up on where to post questions about my "o". I'll post them in the garden tractor section for now on. Thanks for the help

Lonny B thanks for the advice. I checked at the battery with the motor running. I have about 7- 8 volts getting to the battery. I'll check the VR. Thanks

CC original will not charge battery

I have a CC Original I've been using for about 7 years. Ever since I bought it it has not charged properly. It will run for about 2 hours then dies. I instaled a voltage gauge a couple years ago to monitor this problem. From what I can see it slowly looses voltage, about 1 volt every 15...

remember a few years ago when Ford turned 100 years old? They actualy dug up "old Henery's" blue prints and built 4 or 5 brand new model "T's" from scratch. I think it would be cool to see MTD do the same thing, maybe build some new Originals, then fit in all the leagel stuff to make them safe...

Myron B- Glad to have you as a sponsor! I'm kinda new to "cc's" I've never heard of the spirit of "76" cc you mention on the CCSR. What makes them different from other cc made in "76"? Can you post a pic? Thanks

Ken M- I've been using Ag tires on my "o" for the last 5 or 6 years for mowing and all around yard use. I've had good luck with them. As far as I'm conserned, I see no reason to go back to Turf tires. As long as you don't make any sharp high speed turns, you shouldn't have any problems with...

Richard P- I've heard of some one running a small cement mixer with a cub. I've also heard rumors that Danco made a small brush hog for cubs to be ran with the rear PTO. Does anyone know if this was true or not?

Kraig M- Thanks for the link to the 102 blade manual. Looks like it won't take much work to make the blade fit my "O". Sorry about taking so long to reply, I've been pretty busy doing yard work with it. Also, I would like to instal a rear PTO in my Original. Does anybody know if one from a...

Hi all. I'm having charging issues with my OG. I've had the s/g rebuilt and ran a good ground from the battery to the s/g. The problem is, I'm slowly loosing voltage, about 1 volt per hour of run time. Any thoughts on whats wrong? thanks in advance for the advice.

I have a question. My motor on my original is having carb trouble. When I start it, it'll run good for a couple minuets, then cut out and die. The only thing that seams to keep it running is holding the choke down. I think the float might be sticking, any thoughts?
